Privacy — the short version

No accounts, no cookies, no ads.

ShadeSpot works without knowing who you are.

What we measure

Anonymous usage events — page views, map taps, shade verdicts, shares. Locations are rounded to about 100 meters before they're stored, so we can't tell which spot you parked at, only which block you looked at.

Feedback-chat signups

If you volunteer for a chat, your email lives in a separate system, is never joined with usage data, and is deleted when the pilot ends (by September 7, 2026) — or same-day on request: hello@shadespot.app.

When you report a wrong spot

The map has a Looks wrong? Tell us link under each verdict. Sending one stores the exact location of the pin you tapped — not your location, and not rounded like the usage numbers above — together with the time, what the app said, and anything you typed. We need the precise point to go back and fix that spot. Nothing about you or your device is attached, the note is optional, and these reports are kept separate from usage data with no way to link the two.

Third parties

We don't sell, share, or send your data to anyone.

Park downtown? Tell the maker what ShadeSpot got wrong — 15 min, you pick what we fix next.
